Last Weeks of Summer Fun at Kure Beach

Boy with Goggles As kids prepare to go back to school, it's an ideal time to come visit Kure Beach for that last summer vacation. Lounge on the pristine beach and relax in the warm summer sun. When you're not catching up on your favorite read or adding to your sun-kissed glow, there's plenty of family-friendly fun to stimulate your mind and heart. The Fort Fisher State Recreation Area is holding a free summer concert series where you and your loved ones can get your groove on. Step back in time with a visit to Fort Fisher on August 14 and explore the world as it was in the mid- to late-1800's. The kids will get a kick out of meeting a sea turtle or touching a sea star at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, while you and your spouse can have a romantic hike on the nearby trails. Accommodations include charming beach cottages and comfortable hotels. There's something for everyone at Kure Beach.
